FREDDIE BLAY REACTS TO BAWUMIA’S VICTORY IN NPP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY

Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has weighed in on reactions following the party’s recent presidential primary that saw Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerge victorious.

Speaking on the matter, Blay stated that it would have been preferable if other contenders, including Ken Agyapong and Bryan Acheampong, had personally visited Dr. Bawumia after the results were announced. However, he emphasized that such a gesture is not essential since they have already publicly congratulated him.

According to him, the important thing is that the candidates have acknowledged Bawumia’s victory and extended their congratulations, which helps promote unity within the party.

Blay’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about party cohesion and reconciliation following the highly contested NPP presidential primary. Political observers say maintaining unity among party members will be crucial as the party prepares for the next phase of Ghana’s political contest.
