The camp of Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, has reportedly been robbed during their stay in Vienna, Austria, with cash and valuable items stolen from the team hotel.
According to a top official who confirmed the incident to Sporty FM, a total of $2,250 in cash and two Rolex watches were taken during the theft. The incident has raised concerns about security arrangements surrounding the team while abroad.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is currently collaborating with Austrian police to investigate the matter and identify those responsible. However, efforts to track the suspects have been complicated after hotel management disclosed that the facility’s CCTV cameras were not functioning at the time of the incident.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected as the probe continues.
