Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Donkor, has revealed her close personal relationship with Ghanaian dancehall stars Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, describing them as “godsons” who affectionately call her “Mummy.”
According to her, the bond between them began after she handled a case involving the two musicians, which later grew into a strong friendship. She noted that beyond their public personas, both artistes are respectful and admirable individuals.
COP Donkor also disclosed her deep love for reggae and dancehall music, explaining that her admiration for the genre strengthened her connection with the artistes. She further revealed that she was among the first people to listen to Shatta Wale’s Street Crown song after it was recorded.
“I heard it even before its official release,” she said, adding that Shatta Wale personally sent her the track and she immediately described it as a masterpiece.
Her comments have sparked conversations online, highlighting the unexpected personal ties between Ghana’s security leadership and the country’s entertainment industry.
