Malawi Seeks Ghana’s Support to Develop Its Digital Economy

The Government of Malawi has expressed interest in collaborating with Ghana to strengthen and develop its digital economy. The request was made during discussions between officials from both countries aimed at exploring opportunities for technological cooperation and knowledge sharing.

Malawi is looking to benefit from Ghana’s experience in digital transformation, particularly in areas such as digital payments, e-governance, fintech innovation, and digital infrastructure development. Ghana has in recent years positioned itself as one of Africa’s emerging digital hubs, implementing initiatives that have improved financial inclusion and public service delivery through technology.

Officials involved in the discussions emphasized that the partnership could help Malawi accelerate its digitalization agenda while also strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

The collaboration is expected to focus on capacity building, policy development, and the exchange of technical expertise to support Malawi’s efforts to build a modern, inclusive digital economy.
