Interior Minister Mubarak Muntaka has defended the mass disqualification of applicants in this year’s security recruitment exercise. According to him, some applicants were weed smokers or had mental health conditions, making them ineligible.
The Minister also addressed concerns that many disqualified applicants were NDC supporters, insisting that the vetting process is strictly based on eligibility criteria, not political affiliation.
“Our priority is to ensure only qualified and fit candidates join the security services,” Muntaka emphasized.
