Nana Opoku Ware, son of Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, has made a significant contribution of GH¢50,000 to support brilliant but financially challenged students at the Ghana School of Law.
The donation was made through the Student Financial Aid Program following the launch of the “GSL-SRC Scholarship Scheme 26,” an initiative designed to ease the financial burden faced by some law students. As President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Ghana School of Law, Nana Opoku Ware said the scheme aims to ensure that deserving students are not denied legal education due to financial constraints.
In addition to his personal contribution, his SRC administration achieved a major milestone by securing the inclusion of law students in the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), expanding access to financial support within the institution.
Addressing students and stakeholders, Nana Opoku Ware stressed that legal education should not be reserved for the privileged few. “The law should not be a luxury for the wealthy, but a calling for the brilliant,” he stated, describing the donation as a call to action for resourceful individuals and institutions to invest in the future of Ghana’s legal profession.
He further explained that the financial support would help bridge the gap for students whose loan applications were unsuccessful, ensuring that financial hardship does not hinder the aspirations of talented future lawyers.
