GRA Seizes Smuggled Cooking Oil, Warns Traders to Comply with Tax Laws
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has seized a consignment of smuggled cooking oil in a renewed crackdown on tax evasion and illegal trade activities.
Commissioner-General of the GRA, Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, issued a strong warning to businesses operating in the country, stressing that compliance with tax regulations is non-negotiable.
“If you want to do business in Ghana, pay your tax. If you attempt to cheat the system, you will lose your goods and your trucks,” he stated.
The seizure forms part of ongoing efforts by the Authority to clamp down on smuggling and protect state revenue. Officials say enforcement operations will continue across the country to ensure that all traders adhere strictly to customs and tax laws.
The GRA has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national revenue and creating a fair business environment for compliant operators.
