CLOGSAG Threatens Nationwide Strike Over Delayed Salary Structure Implementation

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced plans to embark on a nationwide strike on March 9 if the government fails to implement its revised salary structure.

At a press briefing held on Friday, February 20, 2026, leaders of the association expressed dissatisfaction over what they described as persistent delays in executing the agreed salary adjustments. According to CLOGSAG, the delay has created uncertainty and frustration among its members across the country.

The association emphasized that the new salary structure is essential to improving working conditions and ensuring fair compensation for civil and local government staff. Leaders warned that failure to address the issue within the stipulated timeframe would compel members to withdraw their services nationwide.

A strike by CLOGSAG could significantly disrupt operations within ministries, departments, agencies, and local government institutions, affecting public service delivery across the country.

As the deadline approaches, attention is now focused on whether government officials and CLOGSAG leadership will engage in negotiations to resolve the impasse and prevent industrial action.
