Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Frederick Acheampong, has revealed that former Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was going to be sacked regardless of the outcome of Ghana’s friendly match against Germany.
Speaking on the matter, Acheampong disclosed that the decision to relieve the coach of his duties had already been taken after the team’s match against Austria. According to him, officials only delayed the announcement, explaining that they were “just buying time” before making the decision public.
The disclosure has sparked renewed debate among supporters about management decisions surrounding the Ghana national football team and the team’s long-term direction.
