Eight Civilians Who Assisted in GAF Helicopter Crash Recovery Recruited into Armed Forces
Eight individuals who played a key role in recovering the bodies of victims following the tragic August 6, 2025 Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash have reportedly been recruited into the military.
The announcement was made by National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, during his “Thank You Tour” with party delegates in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the Deputy Defence Minister, Ernest Yaw Brogya Genfi, confirmed that eight out of the 13 civilians who bravely assisted in the recovery operation after the GAF Z9 helicopter crash have successfully been enlisted into the Ghana Armed Forces.
He added that the recruits are currently undergoing military training, describing the move as recognition of their courage and patriotic service during the difficult recovery operation.
The recruitment has been welcomed by many as a gesture acknowledging the bravery and sacrifice demonstrated by the civilians in the aftermath of the tragic incident.
