Ghanaian media personality Akuapem Poloo has stirred mixed reactions online after sharing bold views on pregnancy, marriage, and personal life choices.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Poloo advised women not to feel pressured to force marriage after becoming pregnant. According to her, such decisions can lead to regret if not made naturally.
“Don’t force any man you conceive with to marry you, or you will regret it. If he is meant for you, God will bring him back,” she stated.
Drawing from her personal experiences, Poloo explained that her outlook on life and relationships has been shaped by her journey as a mother. She emphasized that childbirth should never be seen as a mistake, regardless of the circumstances.
“My first child was not a mistake… None of my children was a mistake,” she added, describing children as blessings that come with purpose.
She further noted that marriage is not a necessity for everyone and may come at the right time for those it is meant for. Instead, she encouraged young women to focus on their education and personal growth.
Poloo also advised against abortion, urging women who find themselves pregnant to keep their children and embrace the journey of motherhood.
Her comments have since generated widespread discussion, with many sharing differing opinions on her views about relationships, responsibility, and societal expectations.
