A High Court has ordered lawyer and activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor to pay GH¢5 million in damages to former National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah, in a defamation case.
In addition to the damages, the court awarded GH¢100,000 in costs against Barker-Vormawor. The ruling follows legal action initiated by Mr. Dapaah over statements he considered defamatory.
The case, which attracted significant public attention, centered on allegations made by the activist that were challenged in court by the former minister. After reviewing the evidence and arguments presented, the court ruled in favor of Mr. Dapaah.
