The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has announced plans to conduct a mass burial of unclaimed bodies currently occupying its mortuary due to severe congestion.
According to hospital management, the bodies—made up of unidentified persons and individuals whose families have not come forward—have remained at the mortuary for years, creating space challenges. The hospital has therefore called on relatives and next of kin to report to the facility to identify and claim any bodies before the deadline.
All bodies that remain unclaimed after the stated period will be buried in line with public health regulations and approved procedures, in collaboration with relevant authorities.
